In light of my rant on Monday about how modern bushcraft has become disconnected from the reality of actually living alone in the wilderness, I thought I would post up this movie, Happy People-A Year in the Taiga, created by Dmitry Vasyukov and Werner Herzog.
The documentary follows several inhabitants of a small Siberian village, and in particular the lives of several trappers. It gives a realistic view of how a lone trapper is supported by the community and works through a supply chain in order to survive under such harsh conditions.
While the movie does not specifically focus on any particular bushcraft skills, there are many interesting techniques that can be see.
